Welcome to the SDCH web page!
We are a group of bible-believing homeschoolers, gathered together for mutual support, group events, and general fellowship.
In a unanimous decision, the California Court of Appeal for the Second Appellate District today ruled that “California statutes permit home schooling as a species of private school education.”

Park Days
Our primary get-togethers are Park Days, which meet on the second Friday
of each school month at 2:00pm. Park Days are a great time to get out
and get some exercise, sign up for classes, field trips and
events, and just meet up with other homeschool families and have some fun.
Sometimes there are special guest speakers too, so come by and check it
out. (click here for more information)
Summer Bible Study
We are very pleased and excited to announce a new summer opportunity for
homeschool moms to fellowship and also to learn and grow together in a
Bible study on prayer.
Jennifer Kennedy Dean's 13-week study titled, Live a Praying Life, Open
Your Life to God's Power and Provision covers the purpose of prayer, the
process of prayer, the promise of prayer and the practice of prayer. It
is an interdenominational study looking at what the Bible has to say on
this vital subject. Jennifer describes the study herself in a 10-minute
video (we will not be using the optional videos for our study, only the
books):

P.E. Program
San Diego Christian Homeschools offers a P.E. program that includes the
Presidential Fitness Challenge. Children will experience and be tested
in a wide range of fitness activities including hog-tying, chicken chasing,
grouse hunting and the ever-popular hop-on-one-foot-and-howl-like-a-monkey
event...
...and yes, all the usual stuff too.

Our P.E. Classes will meet four times each month on Tuesdays at 2:00 (usually the 5th Tuesdays will be "off" from P.E., also there will be no classes the weeks of Christmas and New Year). We will incorporate three fun and effective aspects of physical education into our P.E. program:
- The Presidential Fitness Program
- Brain Highway’s Adventure Trails Program, and
- Various sporting games and traditional playground activities
(see our P.E. Lesson Plan for each week’s scheduled game or activity).

It may seem like a once-a-week P.E. class isn't very much activity, but there will be plenty of encouragement and incentives for our kids to do some active things on their own at home. For example, each month we will hand out a Physical Activity Log for the kids to take home so that they can work on being more physically active at home. When the kids return their charts at the end of the month they will be given points known as “P.E. Stars” that can be redeemed each quarter for fun prizes. To help inspire all of our kids to be active each day remind them to work on different ways to fill-in this Physical Activity Log and chart their progress. Let them know that each activity will count toward their Physical Education requirements for the sate of California. Please click the links of each of the three different aspects of our program to learn more about them. (click here for more information)
